    Good advice, I will try.

    WARNING RE AIRTECH

Good tip, thanks! But I already got a nice metal tray fabricated locally for half what I wasted on the non-fitting fiberglass tray.

Still not a word from these guys. If anyone has a 70-73 frame and needs a battery tray... well, I can sell you one cheap.

    WARNING RE AIRTECH

Could be. It's America, however. Not a giant break over Christmas. And I contacted them weeks ago. Head in sand I think.

Still not a word back from these guys, even after emailing them with a link to this thread. FYI.

    WARNING RE AIRTECH

This is what I already emailed to them. (four days ago) "This story and conversation is now posted on XS650.com. If you provide me with a reasonable resolution, I will post that as well. As of now, your unusable product and poor customer service is clear for all to see."

    Yep.

    WARNING RE AIRTECH

I could try that, though I suspect they would delete it from their page. Youtube is an option. Wouldn't a decent company just measure their own product and a relevant xs650 frame themselves? Not that hard to do really. The fact that they have tried to blame me saying that I didn't read the...

    WARNING RE AIRTECH

This is all a bit frustrating. All they need to do is take a tape measure to a few frames and also to their battery trays, and then refund me or not. No need for unfair accusations by them, or bad business dealings, or crazy theories about frame members moving after braces are removed, or unfair...

    WARNING RE AIRTECH

So.... airtech has manufactured a part that fits a '71 xs1B "too a tee" and then sold it like it will fit a 1980 special frame (my bike) as long as the cross brace is removed. Which, clearly, it won't fit. And then refused to refund my purchase price. Hmmmm... Not exactly stand up business...

    WARNING RE AIRTECH

Actually, they already agreed to an exchange. I was insistent upon a refund (their mess up, and they have nothing else that I want), but either way, they had agreed already to take tha part back. And then refused it. " I can't do a return as the part is made to order but please look through...

    WARNING RE AIRTECH

All this input is much appreciated. Amazing thoroughness, Skull. I have forwarded this link to the airtech folks. Rejecting my attempted return was a pretty lowbrow move on their part so I am not optimistic. We shall see how they respond. They owe me twice what I paid just for the hassle factor...

    WARNING RE AIRTECH

Super interesting. Makes you wonder to whom they have sold "hundreds" of these.

    WARNING RE AIRTECH

    Good questions.

    WARNING RE AIRTECH

If they are so sure they are right and I am wrong, maybe they should pull out a tape measure and prove it.
