Well a while back the wife said if I found a small 4 wheeler she would go offroading with me. Since my dirtbike is a 79 XL75 with an XR100 bottom end, 120 big bore and cammed she doesn't need anything fast. The suspension on the XL is its real limiting factor.

Well sunday I picked up an 87 TRX125. Guy selling it thought the carb was clogged from sitting, and that's why it wasn't running. Well, carb was clean, it just wouldn't run with the tank being bone dry. Put gas in and it runs, shifts through all gears(including reverse) and the lights even work. Down side is it smokes, like no bugs in the yard after a lap.

So the plan is to do a top end on it, clean and lube cables, and paint it. It's flat black right now. The wife loves pink. So I'm going to paint the frame pink, the tank will be pink, and it'll get pink honda decals. The rest will stay black, with maybe some pink highlights.

The older aircooled hondas run forever with some maintenance. And they tend to be great for just riding trails. If the wife likes it enough I'll look for something like a trx250/300, a little bigger with suspension.
