For Sale - About 1.5 bikes worth of parts for sale - Troy, NY ($500)

My craigslist posting includes info and pics: http://albany.craigslist.org/mpo/4406492233.html I really just need the stuff gone. I'm moving in a few weeks after I graduate college and I don't have much free time until then. I'm pretty flexible, the one thing I have to insist is the stuff...

For Sale - XS650 Parts in Troy, NY

Hey everyone, I'm getting rid of the last of my XS stuff. College and other projects take up too much time and money so I'll probably be off of two wheels for now. Here's the contents of my CL ad: Have enough four wheel projects for some time, getting out of the motorcycle game for a...

    For Sale - 81 Basket case - $1000 - Troy, NY

Hey all, With great regret I'm listing my cafe project for a quick sale. An opportunity to buy one of my dream cars came up and it's far rarer than XSs. I have a rebuilt engine, titled frame, clean wire spokes, and lots of brand new parts. More than enough stuff to build the bike and then...

Make Offer - Cafe project: multiple frames (one titled), engines, parts etc

I'm considering making the jump over to Guzzis or Triumphs and trying to buy a running and driving bike (in college and really shouldn't be spending the time and money on projects). So I thought I would see how easy and profitable it would be to move my XS stuff. Like I said, I'm not committed...

    For Sale - 1981 XS650 Special basket case - $400obo

No title, just over 6000 miles, located in western New Hampshire, off of 91. From what I know of it, was owned by a guy who joined the Air Force and put it away. Previous owner bought it as a barn find but it had low compression so he started to tear down the top end of the motor, took off the...

For you New Englanders: Knucklebuster's Greasebag Ride & Camp

I won't have my bike on the road for this but I thought I'd mention it in case any of my fellow Northeasterners were interested. Looks like a good time, beautiful riding, and the price is right. Event Page

My bro has trouble with his Honda CMX450 (Rebel), anyone help?

He's trying to test the CDI and the pickup coil, having a bear of a time. Is it the same process as an XS? The online community for these doesn't nearly compare with the XS and he's had no luck on those forums. I told him to get an XS but he's a short guy and he thought it'd be too tall.

Designing my rear sets: what's the ideal position?

I'm designing my rear sets, hoping to finalize by the weekend and start machining them. The first design I'm working on will be as cheap as possible, reusing as many stock components as possible (pegs, for example) and keeping the machining simple. Right now my bike is in pieces and I'm not...

Info on the clutch viewing port case mod?

I've seen a couple of Yamahas that have modified side cases with a hole and glass/plexiglass over the clutch. Is there a how to somewhere around here? Are people selling them? My search fu failed me and I think it would be a sick thing to do.

Anyone have experience with Honda CX500s?

I'm thinking about picking up a cheap beater bike to ride while I do my cafe project, but also something that I can do a stylish hardtail with after the cafe project. My old man is a huge Guzzi guy so I've always liked the Honda CX500s and they can be had for real short money. Anyone have...

    Firestone/Shinko Performance characteristics

Hey team XS, Can anyone tell me about performance characteristics of the Firestone/Shinko classic zig zag tread tires? (Coker link) I see that there are a lot on bobber/chopper bikes but I didn't find as many pics of them on cafes. I'm building a cafe bike but until I do performance mods to...

Anyone know anything about shaping flat aluminum (sheet metal)?

I would like to make X75 Hurricane-like sheet metal for my cafe (Pic). I was going to model it in CAD, cut it into manageable sized pieces (I want exposed rivets anyway) then section my models and make wood molds/templates for the maybe 3 or 4 pieces on each side and start hammering aluminum...

    Anyone from New England/the Northeast?

I grew up in Vermont, living now in New Hampshire, spend a lot of time in midcoast Maine, I went to school in Massachusetts, and now I go to school in the Albany area of New York. Anyone else from this little corner of paradise? (Nvm one of the shortest riding seasons in the country :banghead:)
