I need a lesson in brakes 101. Why do the drum rear drum brakes on my 79 xs squeal like a pig? They stop great but heads turn. Would love to know what to look for before I disassemble. Thanks.

i'm rebuilding a '79 xs650sf. How can i tell if I have a 447 engine so I can fit Mikes XS 5th gear overdrive? Everything leads me to believe I do. Also, anyone have a nice 3rd pinion gear yamaha part #256-17131-04-00? My cogs are worn.
