    fork lowering

Hugh had me drill out another hole that lined up with his spacer, worked out perfect. Not sure which end of the spring that I cut off though to answer the other question. Here are a few photos after spacer install. Replaced stock rim with 21" rim that I laced up new.

    fork lowering

Looking for a little help installing 3" spacers from Hugh's. When I line up the hole in the spacer with the hole in the rod there leaves a gap. Shouldn't the spacer be fully seated? If so the holes aren't gonna line up. Also, I cut off 3" of spring but once reassembled I can't get the fork cap...

    Frame question

Thanks 2M! That's the direction I'm going with new cross bar and gussetts. I'm using 160 grit flap wheel to blend in old welds and remove other tabs. As i was doing this I thought that inevitably some areas were going to sand a little deeper than others. Is there a trick to this process so you...

Can anyone provide some insight into how the xs650 frame is constructed. I'm interested in vertical sleeve on the front of the frame. see photo. Does the inner tube run all the way up to the neck tube with the sleeve covering the whole thing?

    xs650 reassembly

Folks I tore down my '81 xs650 to the frame and had a TC Bros hardtail installed. Needless to say that was the easy part. I'm looking for feedback on next steps after paint. Seriously, I have no experience with this but do have the help of a community garage for any technical aspects of the...
