I can now remove as much rust as possible through Electrolysis, which is using water and electricity. It's a 1-3 day process depending on how well you want it done. It can take up to 5 days, really depending on how bad it is inside. I can only do one tank at a time for now, until I'm able to get...
Any tips for removing stuck head gasket? These pieces are stuck on there good. I tried some degreaser with a plastic safety scraper to no avail. Just read to try paint stripper or maybe try some heat?
It also looks like there are small impressions in the mating surfaces from the old head...
Hello, and thanks for any insights here from the community. I am knee deep in swapping a 35mm front end into the 76'. This morning I removed the old 34mm forks, and trees. When I rebuilt this front end I had installed the All Balls Racing tapered bearing kit.

So I had a local shop powdercoat my wheels and they did a boo boo. They ended powdercoating inside the lips of both wheels. I had asked if they've ever done wheels before and if they knew where to mask off and the guy replied yes he had done dozens of sets  so now I'm stuck with a bunch...
Hello all !
I am new here and I am in the process of stripping down my 1979 XS 650 Special. I still haven't decided if I want a chopper, bobber, insert flavor of the month build here.
Anyways I was noticing that people had trouble removing the clutch nut. I did it without any special tools...
My wheel bearings need replacing, and they are not coming out. The rear has a little collar pressed into the sprocket side bearing that will drive the center spacer into the inner race on the opposite side bearing. First I put a socket on the collar and hit it with a rubber mallet. Nothing...
