Hello all.

I have a 1980 xs650 with pma/pamco/m unit.

My dad and buddy just bought some bikes to build but not wanting to drop 6k like I did on parts haha. I don't blame them.

Anyways, if there charging and alternator system works good, is there anything that stops them from using a m unit/m button?

BTW, the point is budgeted and as minimal wiring as possible.

Thanks so much.

You don't say which bikes your dad and buddy bought?
I see no value in using M units at all. They are a very expensive geeky product, that does nothing more than a fuse panel and some simple wiring. The stock electrical system on these bikes is a simple system. Why spend a ton of money on needless parts.
