I have had an ongoing debate with myself on which hardtail to go with between the G&L and the David Bird. I do not have a welder or the skills to weld on my own. I'd like to go with the David Bird frame because I'd like a 1 inch drop and I am too inpatient to wait 3-4 months to get my frame back eventhough I hear nothing but good things about G&L. I was wondering if anyone in the Chicago area knows a professional welder that they can refer to me to hardtail my frame since this bike will be holding me when I'm done and I'm not a small guy? If not, I'll be going with the G&L frame. Thanks for any help or direction.
