Can someone measure something for me?

not sure why I posted a blank thread. Damn iPhone.

Anyway, I won't be near my bike for a couple days, but was needing the width of the seat rails, or more importantly, the width between the seat rails. If anyone is close to their ride with a tape measure coul you get me a measurement? I'd appreciate it greatly.

Oh, and I've got a '79 special if it matters.

I measured two frames an '81 and '82. One was 7 1/4" and the other was 7 3/16" between the seat rails (inside to inside). I took two measurements on each frame, one just before the horizontal brace that is right behind the battery box, and one right behind that. Hope that helps.
