Hi all- This site is the best- Here's my problem- I have a 1975 XS650b with stock airbox, and stock jetting- The pipes are more straight through with minor baffling. For my bike to run well (and it does run well) I have to turn my mixture screws way in (about 1/4 turn out on the left carb and only an 1/8 out on the right carb!) I also have to adjust the idle screw way more in on the right side than the left. With more open pipes I thought I'd be looking at a leaner mixture to begin with. With the carbs dialed in this way the bike runs great and the plugs look great. I've had the carbs off about 15 times, could I have messed something up? Why would it run so rich? Gas milage also seems less than optimal- Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated- Also valve clearances are spot on and timing is right in range. ??? Thanks again.
