I took the left and right side covers off because I wasn't sure if I had balls in there, as it turned out. i didn't, no problem, I had a couple of dozen 8mm balls, I'll use them. Uh uh, tne hole through the shaft isn't 8mm is it, its 5 bloody 16ths isn't it. Not the first time I've come Yamaha's mixed metric/imperial sizes they used on the TX/XS650. Can't remember what the other bits were at the the moment, but geez, what a PITA Yamaha is, you'd think they could have made up their bloody minds when designing the bike - metric or imperial, not both.
