these sound a little harsh to me (especially on hard throttle), has anyone reworked the baffles to deepen the tone.

I installed those dustall reverse cone on my 81 special and they don't seem that loud? or is my hearing gone lol.

Hi Richard. Don`t know where you got your Dunstalls from but that XS2 has run genuine ones since 1974. When my bro did a full resto on it my job was to get some new ones made. Those pipes are faithful copies of the original early 70s seamless Dunstalls. I just `forgot` to put any muffling in!

For reference, the original Dunstalls were slim and seamless, nicely engineered and finished. I still have a brochure from the time with an XS2 in it with his 2-1-2 system on it. The XS2 works fantastically well on these pipes if you up the main jets to 150s, that`s all we did. 40 years later it still looks and sounds fabulous. I`m doing one for myself with an R1 front end, 320mm radial brakes, spoked wheels, 840 motor, box section rear end on Ohlins and those pipes - should be the ultimate XS I reckon
