Hi

Originally I wanted to install a small filter on the engine breather, but noticed that I get a lot of smoke from it. I would like to be eco-friendly and kind of follow California standards even though I am from Illinois.

So the idea is to route the tube from the engine breather to one of the pots/carbs. My pots are kind of pricy I don't want them to modify really. Also over time, I can clog the carbs.
I do not want one of those ugly Car Modification Universal Oil Vent Pot 0 75l 25 36oz Oil Pot With Air Filter And An10 Connector - Automotive - Temu Spain.

I wonder if you can share your solutions and creations of how you made this mode or even if you care.

Thanks

Hi there, I get your green credentials, which are worthy.
But these bikes are really old technology, and don’t easily fit in with modern eco engineering. Secondly we generally don’t ride them many miles (compared to modern kit); so the impact on the environment is minuscule. The fact that you keep one alive and kicking benefits the world as it’s not rotting into a pile of toxic poop. Well done I say.

The breather fumes can be routed to behind the left side drive sprocket side cover to re use the vapor drips to lubricate the chain ! That’s as green as it gets 🤣

Single outlet breather (80 up)
Brake booster one way valve , cheap and available at an auto parts store.
Effective and trim looking ..

I do the same but I place the valve on top of the pod. Any oil drips or vapor is simply recycled through the engine .....

If you're getting smoke, you'd be getting oil too, use a catch van. But if you're getting smoke you need to fix it.
I don't get any smoke or oil on my74, but mine is a fresh engine.

Yes, it's that power brake check valve. My '78 has two breather hoses so I installed two of the valves (one on each hose).
