“Universal fit” is usually slang for universally fits nothing directly.
I used that tank on my cb500t - took quite a bit of work to get it to fit. - rewelding the ears/hooks for the frame rubber. - new rear mount and had to use an external inline petcock which required a custom bracket.
It does look good though.
Gave the square tank/ flat body line look of a factory race bike from the 70s without pushing the seating position/ center of gravity over the back wheel and having to run rear sets.
The 500t frame is quite a bit smaller than the xs (think cb350 with a 500 motor). I think it would be a bit difficult to have your bike look proportional with this tank.
