spent the summer on this '73 XS/TX650 bobber build. on road now, approx 1K miles since top end rebuild. all work done by me, it's about my 9th build of various types.

this is not a "project", it's turnkey. i usually build solo rides but with this one you can still take the wife or GF out for a spin.

clear NY Title in my name in hand. BOS will be VERY reasonable...

MODS:
"306" style motor, head is ported, new rings/hone into stock bore (gapped at .012"), 2 new exhaust valves, one new exhaust valve guide, valves lapped, custom exhaust port optimizers into custom 1 1/2" headers with Thrush Cherry Bomb true perf core mufflers, jetted 34mm Mikuni VM carbs, motor painted/polished, sump oil filter has JB weld mod, refurbished clutch, tranny shifts great.

rewired from scratch with 14Ga wire all soldered connections, PMA kickstart only 10,000uF capacitor no battery, electric start deleted, new points/advancer, new reg/rec, new condenser, dual high output Andrews coil, irridium plugs, hi-lo headlight LED tail light conventional turn signals (one missing in pics will be replaced...), no speedo no tach.

stripped to bare frame, all tabs carefully ground off, painted, scalloped seat mod, custom aluminum body panels, new tapered head bearings, knurled steel footpegs and stiffer shifter, lightweight FZR front rotor with SS brakeline, superbike bars- this bike is VERY comfortable and ergonomically dialed in.

you'll get a lot of attention on this ride, and when you twist- it goes, hard. i don't sell anything i haven't thoroughly tested.

i'm in between Owego and Ithaca NY. Northeast regional sale only, no crating or shipping. will meet buyer a hundred miles out or so with deposit beforehand.

$3975 Keith (cell phone is 607 348-6273) also listed on North Jersey craigslist

bump.

i realize most guys on this site are either into building their own custom projects or are restorer types, hence this listing is essentially moot, but hey, you never know...

there's only a handful of decent built XS's for sale around NYC.

2nd bump, with notable news.

bike is now for sale here at southern headquarters in Tarpon Springs FL. weather is SO nice- ride all year

also, custom aluminum carb intakes were installed as per another thread here, and are an additional performance upgrade, as is the fresh 7/6 clutch pack with socket screw mod.

4G even for forum members, $4250 for general public.

hey TwoMany- thanks for the consideration. there are a number of outstanding builders who have posted on the site over the years who really go the extra mile on metal forming, paint and detailing, and/or extreme motor work. i just try to build rider's bikes- clean, get the proportions right and wring max go power out of them on a budget...

seat height on this is 25" uncompressed, though i'm 5' 11" and it fits me perfectly.

i'll be recleaning it soon with fresh pics before it goes on Craigslist down here.

for sale now near Tampa FL in Tarpon Springs (see also Craigslist).

freshly tuned for sea level, and beefier stator installed with maximum case ventilation.

$3995.
