hello im new i have a 79 xs 650 and im wanting to make a bobber out of it it runs but smokes really bad so im going through the motor i want to build a really cool bike

Welcome to the asylum.
Look at the threads about rebuilds, lots of good info on the right things to do to make it leakproof and run right. You will find them quicker in the tech section, find it at the top of the page. Another way to find things simular to what you ask is at the bottom of the page.
As far as "a really cool bike" If it's how you think it should be, then it's a really cool bike, if others say it's not, they are wrong.
