homemade clip ons!!

Has anyone made a set of clipons from the lower clamps off the tree and some 7/8ths tubing?
If so , I would like to see pics or find out if it will even work...

I'm planning on doing this. Just haven't gotten around to it yet.

I think I might try this anyway, Travis...Ill try to remember to take some pics along the way and that way you can post it as a how-to or something.
It should work but i was wondering what the triple tree clamps are like to weld...at first glance they look like some kinda cast material.
I'll let you know how they come out.

They are cast but welding should be fine. The stem is welded in.

Yeah i did a set, they are cast steel but weld up just fine....

Thats what I was looking for... Makes sense to reuse some of the bits off these bikes for new parts....ebay is fine but the shipping's a killer for me.
I will cut them down and tack them with my mig and finish weld them with something with a bit more penetration.

Im trying to get this cafe build off the ground and I just need a good idea for a seat pan ( or a cheap one) and I am good to go.

1/8th aluminum from street signs works well for seat pans.
