I was hoping to get my ‘75 frame rolling today and do some fabricating. But I mistakenly installed the wrong triples and now the lower tapered bearing is pressed on my 35mm fork stem, instead of the 34mm. Project is shelved until next weekend while I wait for my new bearings.

You can remove that bearing if you're careful, I've done it before. Carefully drive a small, sharp chisel between the bearing race and the stem seat. Once it lifts a little, you can change over to various sized screwdrivers, working from smaller to larger. The bearing doesn't have to be lifted too much before it loosens up on the stem.

Thanks, I got it rolling. Break time now.

Way to go, hog!! Good catch, and I'm glad you were able to work it off. You could've done what I did with "The Basketcase", also a '75, and change the forks to 35mm. I did that because I wanted a more "modern" front end with the larger brakes, and hopefully, a little sturdier fork tubes. I had to do something anyways, since the caliper was one fused block and the master cylinder was totally roached. Believe me, that doesn't even qualify as "stupid $#!+" !! :shootme:
