RE has a long history, since 1901, and the Bullets were the motorcycle longest in production anywhere in the World. Been making Enfields in Chennai since 1955. The swing-arm frame, introduced in after the War as you correctly say, is known to Bullet enthusiasts as the Redditch frame. After the Redditch factory closed, India introduced a new frame. More recently, Enfield has developed new bikes with consultancy from Harris Performance frames - I think they designed that frame?
But I put the wrong picture - intended to show one of the new 350 Classics which use same engine and frame as the Meteor. This is the Chrome but they have a good range of other colours on offer:
