If its off a kawasaki you won't be able to use it, looks like there is a wire missing from the middle, the last kawasaki I had with an electrical problem, the alternater put out something rediculous like 73 volts ac.

It's a combo regulator/rectifier. The Kawasaki uses a permanate magnet type altenator. The missing wire is the red wire.
You can use this type of reg/rec. You have to wire the brushes straight to a hot wire after the switch. This effectively makes the field excited alternator act like a permanate magnet alternator. Not the best way to fix the problem, but one way.
If you have bad stock parts, Pamcopete's Chrysler regulator and Radio Shack rectifier conversion is about the least expensive option for getting your charging system up and charging.
Over at the garage he has pages of info on doing the conversion, both the pre 79 and 80 and later bikes.

thanks
i'm doing the rz350 conversion, but since the red is missing, i bought an other reg/rec for 17$ on ebay.also a kawa but from 2004
thanxs for the info
