I had an old rusty front fender with its support braces, etc. I sort of have a mild cafe thing going on with my bike and wanted some stability up front without the huge front fender. I took the tubular supports from the old fender and welded a couple flat pieces of steel to make a mini fork brace. I cut the fender down and used the four pre-threaded holes on the front part. To attach the rear I just drilled two holes and used short bolts. I will eventually beadblast the chrome and paint the thing to match, but I am very happy with how the front end handles (but I am not racing the bike or anything). Here are some pics-
