For my engine rebuild, I am planning to just rebuild the top end. I left the bottom alone, but would like to replace all of the oil seals since this motor was leaking oil all over when I picked it up. Are there any problems that might arise if I am not planning on cracking open the crankcase?

Thanks,
-Brent

does it run?
if so if it runs half decent and just needs a ring job, ive done that. Took the motor out, yanked the top off, turned it upside down, yanked the case apart looked for anything out of the ordinary. look for Bent shift forks, Chipped gears. looked ok, so just a ring job, light hone, new rings, and valve seals. Still runs great, four years later.
