Pickup coil circuit in the tci ?

Does anyone know of basically a stand alone setup for this ?
I already have a custom ignitor setup from a previous project.

It requires the ability to ground a wire to initiate spark. If I had just the pickup side of a tci I'm sure I could make it work.

From your description I'd guess you need a Hall Effect Sensor. Basically it's a switch that changes state in the presence/absence of a field. Commonly used in ignition systems as a trigger. Hope that helps.
