The Circlips I received with my Cruzinimage piston kits have a bend in them. It made installing them easy. Should they be lest as is or bent into the grove?

Yes, so leave them as is. Also, an old racer's trick - install the clips with the open side facing up or down, not to the side. The thinking behind this is with the opening facing the side, very high RPM operation may allow the clip to compress and pop out.

Hi peterg,
install 'em "as is" and don't bend nothin'.
That extra 'leg' is there so the circlip can be removed more easily on the next tear-down.
Do NOT replace the wire circlip with a square-section snap ring. Although snap rings are far stronger than wire circlips
they don't stay in half-round circlip grooves; they come out and wear a train-track all down your new re-bore.
