My points start opening up when the mark on the stator is at around 10 o'clock and they need to start opening up right before the f mark around five o'clock does anyone know how to fix this?

Got all pins lined up 5twins but points still open at 10 o'clock

something is still not right with your advance rod then.
There is also a locating pin on the back of the advance unit. This locks the unit in place on the cam so the timing is correct. If that pin is missing (left out, fell out, broke, whatever), the advance unit can turn on the cam and that would throw the timing off. That's what I would check next if you're sure the advance rod is assembled correctly.

Just looked no pin and the slot it's saposed to be in was destroyed like the pin tore it up guess I'll have to order that part thanx guys so far for being patient with me I'll get it orderd and on as soon as I can
