powdercoating mag wheels

I'm will ask my powdercoater when I see him but I thought you guys may know.
I want to powdercoat my stock mag wheels but I want the part that is now black to be done in white and the bare aluminum parts to remain bare. How do they do that with powder? Can you tape areas off like when painting?

The guy I use has a almost plastic looking see through material that he cuts to shape and it stick's on during the heating process to mask off any areas..

The easy way to do it is put the white down then just wipe the areas off before baking
