Single carb compatibility?

OK so i know there are a bunch of single carb threads on here but i had a question that was more specific to an aftermarket unit. I'm looking at the Edelbrock 38mm flat side carb. Only thing i'm concerned with is will it be enough to run as a single. I'm thinking yes but i need to hear it from someone with a little more carb knowledge.

When running oversized carbs, you want to have a lot of control/options on jetting of the low and midrange. If not, drivability could suffer.
