Looking for a good starter for my '83 Heritage Special. My starter won't even turn the engine over now that I've rebuilt it. I'd like to spend something around $20/$25 (shipped to 48618) if at all possible.

Thanks.

I have an offer for you.

I'm in need of a riveting tool. I don't need one for long, just long enough to put my top end back together.

If you have one, loan a brother your riveting tool and you're welcome to the starter from my kick only project. I've never seen it work but PO reported the bike running before he tore it down for a restore.

sound fair?

Hey avenue. Are you talking about the cam chain riveting tool? This will work for me. Can you PM me your phone number?

I have successfully peened the end of a few cam chains without anything but a hammer and a dolly behind the chain. This is easy to do. Just sayin, you can get a few bucks for your starter and you'll both save money and time on shipping.

Search the forums, I found pics/post on how to do it here.
