The youth are growing up in a world that has no true privacy. Their culture is a representation of that lack, and things that are genuine become commonplace as the commonplace gets abused by the sensational. It is part of competitiveness, and the impulses left unrestrained become a challenge of who can be the weirdest (Weird Al), who can be the loudest (Howard Stern), who can be the funniest (Jackass show), who can be the nastiest (modern porn), etc. I named two from our own generation they can't win against. Just so the modern youth can know some of us have been there and done it. Of course, that is there battle cry for excuses, "You were young once." Yes, and I was smart enough to grow old.
