Hey guys. I am new to the site and this is my first post. My son has been a member for awhile and really enjoys being a part of this forum. We found a sharp '75 XS650B last fall and he loves the bike so much I started looking for one myself.I just found a nice, low mileage '73 TX. I am considering removal of all electric start/ decompressor related items from the starter to the decomp lever to set it up similar to a XS-1 or XS-1B. I realize the valve access plate will have to remain a newer 4-bolt style but I would like to lose everything else. Is this a real pain? What is my weight savings? Can I use a non-decomp lever setup on the brake side? Maybe I should leave it bone stock! Thanks guys, looking fwd to being a part of this forum. Joe P.S. Here's a pic of the TX

Just remove the decompressor valve cover and replace it with a regular one. Thats all there is to it.
