1982 Heritage Special has been rewired using the following diagram for the electronic ignition and combined reg rect:

1. Can I eliminated the kill switch/e start assembly from the right side handlebar and use the key switch as an ignition/kill switch? It is kick only.

2. Since this model does not have the headlight on off switch the power is fed directly to the high/low dimmer switch via a 10 amp fuse?

Will the headlight draw too much juice during the kickstart? Is this why the headlight only comes on after my stock 1980 is already running?

Thanks in advance for your help. What elephant in the room am I missing?

Jerm,

1. Yes, you can do this, but it is recommended that you have a kill switch that you can reach without moving your hands of of the grips.
2. Having the headlight on while kick starting is not as bad as having the headlight on and using the electric start.
