What mounts to this tab on the rear fender on a 72 XS2

This is on the end near the motor. What goes there. I'm actually changing rear fenders and the new one has this tab removed. Can I live with out it.

Believe it or not, I'm welding a really nice fender back together where some one cut it up for a bobber. If it wasn't so nice, I wouldn't mess with it. So I can weld the tab on from my old fender. Fortunately, the guy that cut the fender did a realyy nice job so I think it should turn out OK. Also,the weld will be under the seat. It will have to do until I can run across a nice one.

This is for the turn signal flasher. It's a little cylinder that slips into a clip that bolts there.

A little hard to tell from the pic, but yes that does appear to be it.

The rectifier/regulator bolts onto the fender too doesn't it?

Stock location for the rectifier on a '72 is on the left side of the battery box. The regulator is on the right side of the box. The XS2 has separate regulator and rectifier units.
