what trickery is this

ok I'm losing the plot with these carbs, I'm trying to find a rebuild kit here in the uk. I have new diaphragms on the way courtesy of ebay but i can't seem to find a basic rebuild kit ( bs34 1980 ) with everything that looks correct i.e some have what looks like the correct float bowl gasket but wrong jets and so on. I have found at Heiden tuning what seems the best fit but even that seems to have a bowl gasket that is very slightly different. Below is my float bowl:-

this is the link to the Heiden kit, all looks correct but can't figure out what the extra hole is on the gasket bottom right

ok great seems to have everyone confused, ill just cut that extra bulge with hole off the gasket.

No need to cut it off. It doesn't interfere with or hit anything. It will just hang out past the edge of the bowl a little.
