@natana008 Welcome, the height of the XS Charge rotor vs the height of the breaker cam is mostly irrelevant as they perform totally different functions. As long as the magnet in the rotor is the path of the pickup I wouldn't be to concerned about anything else.

@natana008 let me know the results you had on this XS Charge Gen II electronic ignition upgrade. I’m installing the same on my ‘78 XS650. My two new ends on both sides of the rod leave it a bit loose. I added a washer to the left side to correct a bit, but still some clearance is noticed. I haven’t run the engine yet.

The same happened to me. Nut overtightened made the damage. Had a replacement from Mikes. I have some pics from the advance I’ve had on the installation of the charge ignition.

What I still don’t like is that the rod keeps a bit loose. Will it be a good idea to sand one of the terminals to eliminate the gap between terminals?

I need more info on the result of this, I plan to install this very soon, do I need resistor plugs and caps ?

Resistor plugs or resistor caps, not both. You want only one instance of resistance in each plug line.
