Thanks guys,I don't think I'm built for this weather!
Sounds like Carbon needs some snow down his way, don't ya think?
My little girl had a ball at her friends party, they went sledding. She was wore out and slept like a log last night.
8:55pm and it's 11f here, down to 3f over night. Although Christmas is supposed to be 42f!
Merry Christmas to you Carbon.
It's right at 57 degrees here and I just got back from a little ride around town.Wife had me stop by to get a bottle of dish washing liquid while I was out.
Bike ran good and there are quite a few riders out.
Wind is cold as all get out though.Warming up and going out again here in a little bit.
Another cold front is blowing in.It'll be cold tonight and the rest of the week I'm sorry to say. It is January, still winter weather to deal with.
Sorry to hear that Paul. Yeah, it's already getting back to miserable here too.
Another cold blast heading our way.The wind is already howling.I believe that today was a rare one for sure.
I went out a couple more times, not for very long mind you. I put one in for ya though man.
I installed both a new counter shaft and clutch push rod seal today. And yes I'm glad I had an extra one for the clutch. I tore the first one pretty easy. I still have one left.
The pictures don't show all of the oil and mess I had going.
Had to "borrow" the neighbor to help with the sprocket nut. I know I put it on there, but damn it was tight! Wound up using a cheater on the ratchet to break it free.
I used 3bond on both seals and also on the front and back of the sprocket.
Sorry for the crappy pics,my wife has the better camera with her.
Temps are in the mid 50's so I went for a ride to check it out and so far no leaks.
I was gonna replace the throttle shaft seals and up the pilots yesterday, but I forgot my driver bit set at work.As soon as I pulled the bowls,I realized I had no way of pulling the pilots or the butterfly screws.Did I mention the butterfly screws look to be hacked on already? Damn PO! I didn't want to risk screwing them up using my crappy drivers I have on hand. After talking with 5twins I'll wait for the 32.5's instead of using the 35's I was going to run. I'll throw the carb's back on today so I can get some riding in today. It's gonna be in the 60's man! Still planning to pull the engine soon...
Glad to hear you are riding now John!
Only a few hardy soles starting to venture out here now - still bloody cold and too much salt on the roads yet - not long though
