You know what would look killer on the side of that black and gold tank? These.....

Local Yamaha dealer has these round ones in a couple different sizes.
Yamaha Marine may have items too.
And, fwiw, I rode the second day of the Ozark Rally and back here since then just opening one petcock. No fuel starvation at speed. Probably heretical, but why not just blank off one petcock and run one only? Cut potential leaks in half and more space for gas line and filter routing.
I would encourage everybody to buy from their local dealers. The local support is needed. All the online buying is hurting our local shops.Huh! I never thought about a local dealer.
All the ones I see on Craigslist come from Taiwan or England
Just need to spend more time in the twisties to slosh the fuel over to the side with the petcock. The earlier tanks weren't designed to run just one petcock. Once the fuel level drops below the hump down the middle, you won't fully drain the side without the petcock. The later one petcock tanks were redesigned inside. That hump was lowered at the rear so fuel from the side without a petcock could run around it. The redesign allows one petcock to drain the whole tank.
Just need to spend more time in the twisties to slosh the fuel over to the side with the petcock.
Well, there are still the High School tracks ? Do fast lefts !!Lakeview and I live in SW Ontario - and there are NO twisties here.
Think I read somewhere that the music logo & motor logo are slightly different. IIRC one the tips of the tuning forks are inside of the circle and the other the tips touch the circle. Can't remember which is which offhand. On the matter of Yamaha tuning fork logos, those folks who live in bigger cities may find a musical instrument repair shop and they may have the logos as well.
The company uses that logo on the cases of their musical instruments and they may have repair parts in-stock.

Here ya go buddy.....

3 coats of DoPont Centari. I think I'll let 'em cure for about a week before I box 'em up.
