My on the cheap bobber build thread.

Well hell! Damn lawn tools. I went to borrow my dad's mantis tiller to till a patch for potatoes and the damn thing still had fuel in it from last summer! Drained the fuel and found the fuel hoses were junk. I went and got new and installed them, but now the fuel primer bulb is cracked from old age. Nice way to spend an afternoon. I hate little 2 stroke engines.

I didn't all of your post there Carbon. Dang that's pretty freakin' gross man.
Yeah I'll pick one up tomorrow. Not a big deal to replace. Though I'm hoping that's all it needs. I should of counted on the damn thing being a SOB to get running.

Hey John,

I was wondering what you ended up using for the blinker relay? A 552?

I think I have the same cheap signals for my build(but black) and I wasn't sure if a standard relay would work or if I'd need and electronic unit.

I looked back through the thread but I didn't see you mention it. That thing rocks man...I love it.

dilbone, I'm using the stock one that came with the bike. It has three prongs, only using two. A standard flasher would work fine. Thanks man I appreciate that.:D
I will start breaking her down this weekend.

Well if the snow isn't to bad I'll be at the shop tomorrow. I'll be taking some pics along the way.It shouldn't take too long so I'm planning to do some welding and smoothing up of some parts while I'm there.

Snow what does that matter? I don't care if there ice, I'll still be in the shop! It's like a 10 second walk too!.. :D

Yeah, Yeah! "I'll just step out to the garage and work on my bike anytime I feel the itch.....":wink2:
I on the other hand have to drive 30 miles one way to work on mine. And it's all up hill too...

up hill both ways and in the snow!!!!!

I'm in the same boat John. 25 miles each way to work on the bike and we work opposite scedules so it really ends up being a few hour a week on Mondays so it is taking forever.

Yous Guys are making me feel bad.
As I write this my bike is less than 12'' away from me.
I step out the dinning room door and there I am in my garage.
And I still take my time. Maybe I should have my ass kicked.

Well I got her broke down.
I thought the pile would be bigger!

Here's the lump. Man that SOB is heavy! I'll have to get an engine stand made up so I can pull the top end. Found a little bit of what looked to be black plastic pieces out of the oil when I drained it. Glad I got a new front guide.

I'm looking at cutting a cove in the bottom of the top tube to weld my back tank mount into. Anybody have a better idea?
