I'm running VM 36's with a peanut tank and single free flow petcock. I found this cap on Fleabay, but the seller claims it's not vented. What are the little holes around the edge if they're not vents, and from what I've read I have to have a vented cap, right?

So I bought the kit from Mike's and I have it installed. The problem I have is that the adjuster at the side cover sticks out too far, so I can't put the cover back on. What did I do wrong? Thanks!

Already switched to non-vacuum petcocks due to leaky stock ones, and now one of them is leaking, so here's the plan... Delete right side petcock, (seems like one is enough). Weld a plate in the p/c location and forget about it. Install a fuel T off of remaining p/c and run lines to each carb...

Should a seat made for Standards 1974-79 work on a 78 Special? Were the frames the same for both?

I recently purchased a 78 XS650S with no apparent issues. After an oil change and a new battery, the only other thing I noticed was a little too much slack in the chain, (about 1.5"), so I adjusted it to about 3/4" sitting on the bike. E-start just spins, so I had to kick it. I rode it around...

I think my bike would look better a bit lower. Thinking about a 2.75" lowering kit for the front forks and switching to Honda Rebel rear shocks that are 10.5". Has anyone done a similar front and rear switch like this? Too low?
