1978 Bobber build by Two Eight Customs

Background: I've been riding a 1976 Honda CB550 cafe for some time and I decided I was up for a change. So, I sold off the 550 and a CB750 to clean out the garage and to placate my wife. She absolutely refused to agree to me having a third bike. She additionally was adamant about me not...

First build and first bike...Denver, CO

Alright, I've been slacking on this for a while now and figured I should get to starting this build thread. I picked up a '78 xs650 a few months back for $400 bucks with title. The PO had kind of started to tear it apart. Didn't get very far. Basically took some parts off and cut off a portion...

What is used for the padding of this seat

I'm curious as to how the padding of this seat was put together. I'm not worried about the frame of the seat. It looks like rubber sheets but I'm not sure. I think it's cool.

Anybody using the Monstercraftsman MonoShock Seat??

I've been considering it for my bobber build but I can only find a pic of one bike with it and that's in their ad. It would be nice to see something different especially if it were matched with an ardtail since that's what I have. Thanks

Nothing XS. First Build. Lots of Pics.

I have always wanted to build a custom bike someday. Well, someday is today. As soon as I saw the Brat Kit by Monstercraftsman I knew that had to be it. I bought a good condition '81 about a month ago and have been documenting progress. This is my first build so I want/need the criticism...

My Santee XS650 Build, very slow build

Short story... I bought the Santee frame from a kid that didn't know what he had, and the weld on little pieces are quite scary! I am no welder, but looks like he closed his eyes on some of the welds. So going to strip off all the "new" add on to the frame and make my own motor mounts. I picked...

    First ride

Well today I got to take the bike out. Things went smoth. Felt awesome. Only took 3 1/2 years for my winter build...... Still have some adjustments to make and to figure out why the right carb cable isn't returning completely causing a bit of a high idle. All in all a great success...

'83 Headlight Wiring with Cube Relay Question

Before I ask my question: I have read the threads on wiring schematics and have not seen the answer. Here's the question: Can I run a normal ISO cube relay using the yellow wire from the alternator as the trigger? I just need to know what is coming from that yellow wire ;-) Here's the...

Support to re-name the term "bratstyle"

Look, anyone who knows anything knows "Bratstyle" is a shop in Japan. How did it come to be that any swing arm bike with a flat seat section, or dropped seat is a "brat"? Okay, so maybe your definition of them is a variation, needing a few other details to complete the specifics, and we know...

Newbie bratstyle chopper build (with pics!)

Hi guys. Ive been working on my first build (81 XS650) for about a month now, and though I've read dozens of posts on here for tips and tricks, this is my first post. The plan is to build it cheap, fast, have fun doing it, and end up with a fair-weather toy to take out when I'm not riding...

Hey all... Here's my 81 Heritage chop build.

So, awhile back I had a fun little XS chop but had to sell it unfortunatly. So fast forward a bit, and a few bikes later I finally picked up a donor bike for a new chop. Its an 81 Heritage model. All there except for forks and was only a couple hundred bucks. This is the only pic I have of the...
