So when I pull in my clutch and try to spin the wheel on the stand with it in gear it is very stubborn. I've got the adjuster on the bars almost all the way unscrewed to take up the cable slack.
I put it in fourth and rocked it
I adjusted the worm (with a new ball I found I was missing)...
I hope nobody bashes me but it's just a random thought I had to build a bobber for my girl. I was thinking if theyre any automatic clutches for the xs650 like how atv and smaller dirt bikes have. This should be more easier to focus on riding and not end up messing something up or wrapped around...
bike has been sitting for awhile, got her all fired up pulled in the clutch, put in first gear and it about yanked the bars out of my hands.. twice. ha! i did all the normal, checked the cable adjustment at the lever and motor pulled off the left side cover and everything is there and seems to...
What brand of clutch plates are you guys running? I've raced motocross for 11 years now adn I've always used EBC clutch kits, and I know they work great. I noticed some people talking about the ferodo (sp?) and the mikes xs perfromance high performance plates. Any suggestions?
So here's the deal, was looking for a bobber frame to take three motor out of my 88 cbr1000f, a friend of mine told me he had a buddy selling a frame, well he told me this frame is a Harley frame and its has an xs650, motor is free, its a rolling chassis, then he told me $200 for it I said tell...
I just got back from a 120 mi ride, got 1/4 mile from home went to down shift and got a handfull of nothing. Made it on to the house gritting my teeth and shifting without it. After I stopped I checked the lever again and the cable isnt broken and has a little tension. I havent looked into it...
Just noticed this today on a short run to OSH. I was suprised I could hear it with my poor hearing and helmet on and loud pipes combined. 'Spose it's just being in tune with the bike. I know a new clutch is in the future (works OK, just want to put in Barnett pieces and check the throw-out...
I have two engines in the shop, one that is going into my current build, and it has a 6-plate clutch in it. My spare engine has a 7-plate clutch inside. Can these be swapped directly with no supporting mods needed?
I have a set of stronger (XS Performance) clutch springs and the socket-cap...
OK. So the wife's seat finally arrived from Danny Grey and I take it on her maiden voyage. Pics on the bottom of page 12.

Anyway since this is the first time I've ridden this bike more than a block I decided to give her...
Hey guys,
So I set my clutch cable and mechanism to what the manual says (Mechanism turned in til it starts to bottom, then back a quarter turn, cable free play normal) and when I take it from neutral to first, here's what happens: I pull in the clutch, then push the shifter and the bike, as...
Can't remember how long I've been a member here but decided it was time to let the cat out of the bag and show you what I found here recently. I apologize if you see this post before I add pics (it's 2:00am here and I can't sleep), but I will upload some later on today when I get the bike out...
Hello I am new to the forum. I have an 82 650. Idk if the problem has to do with no oil in the case but here it goes.. When I pull the lever in, the bike remains in gear. I have the single pushrod and have played with all of the adjustments. When I took the cover off I made sure the clutch...
Scanning through ebay I ran across this. http://www.ebay.com/itm/310392594974?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 Thought the DIY crowd might be interested. Seem to be available in many colors if you want something other than black.
Going to be buying clutch plates. Mine are worn under the .12? spec. Motor is stock for now. It may become a 700 or 750 with Shell #1 cam. 650 Central sells the 2 in my header plus Barnett and something else. Are EBC and Ferodo equal in quality. MMM has them listed for about a $10 total...
My 79 has a 2 piece rod with both ball bearings. The long rod has some grooves about 1/4 inch from each end, about 1/2 way around the diameter of the rod. Just enough to catch your finger nail. Should it be replaced? With both rods, both balls, and the pressure plate push rod all installed, I...
I have a clicking sound coming from what appears to be the front, right wheel. Any ideas? Wheel bearing maybe?
It probably starts around 25 miles per hour or higher. It doesn't seem to change pitch / loudness due to higher / lower RPMs. Nor does speed seem to really make it "worse". Though...
I have read alot of the posts regarding the clutch and its adjustment, but I'm still not quite sure how to solve my problem. I changed the clutch pushrod to the long type and changed the oil seal. When I got it all back together again the clutch was no good. I checked that the ball is still in...

A month ago I fitted a new EBC 7 plate clutch in my 77 roadster and all seemed ok. Then a few frends and I went to france to a bike show ect... and the clutch started to occasionly slip and make a noise and judder while I was...
