I was riding down the road tonight and hit a small dip and heard a crack. My clutch wouldn't engage and when i stopped oil was everywhere. I took off the clutch case and the leak seemed to be coming from somewhere in the case but i couldn't tell where. Any ideas. If i know whats wrong i can fix...
was replacing my leaking push rod seal and bushing tonight. Took everything apart and someone had obviously already been there before. Got everything together ok but have a question.
Looks like the original owner replace the push rod (my bike is an 82) with a one piece rod. The ball...
k so i rode my xs2 cafe today and when i pulled the clutch in at a stop sign it slowly strarted to engage till stalled out and the clutch lever was pulled in the whole time anyone got any ideas?
If my 650 sits for several days the clutch plates stick. Pulling in the lever does nothing. Rocking in gear will finally break them free, but it's not easy. Causes, thoughts?
When they are free, shifting etc is ok on short rides. I don't ride enough on it to get issues from heating up.
What, other than the cable (which is new and lubricated), would cause the clutch lever to be very hard to squeeze?
Last weekend, while driving in the country, the clutch cable broke right where the little, cylindrical metal piece connects into the clutch hand-lever. For awhile before the...
In the process of restoring a 73 TX650. I removed the clutch cover and noticed the nut holding the oil pump down was stripped off and the pump cover was cracked and the rotor was in a few pieces. Not sure if the clutch case is damaged, but to be on the safe side, I want to replace the whole...
Hello!

I need to replace the OEM clutch in my '72 XS2 (never replaced the clutch before) and I'm confused as to which parts I need to order from MikesXS.com's Clutch parts page?
I've searched through the archives, but I couldn't find a clear answer, so I'm hoping someone can give me a bit of...
Hey guys. I know this topic has been beaten up pretty bad but I just wanted to make sure of a few things. It seems I have the longer push rod with two bearings. I just wanted to make sure that one of the bearings is supposed to be in the worm and the other between the push rod and push...
Hey all,
Just putting my clutch cable in. I know there's a ball bearing involved in the worm gear, where does it sit? I have a 79 2F and it LOOKS from the fiche that it sits on top of it (ie. between the worm gear and the rod the gear touches). Is that so? If so I've lost the ball lol...
so this might sound pretty rookie but here it goes...
so im missing the piece of hardware that attaches the clutch line to the left side engine cover... am i right by thinking i need the "clutch push screw and housing assembly" from mikes??

WOW, spelled "Rubbing" WRONG. Late night trying to fix this.
I fully cleaned up my clutch with new plates and deburring both the new plates and the plate grooves on the inner and outer plate grooves. I put it back together and the F ING inner is rubbing the inside of the case when disengaged...
Hi. I noticed i have no ball in the worm. The clutch rod is agains the adjustment screw. am i right there should be a ball? I bought one, thats 8mm (5/16"). If i put that ball in the worm, the side cover doesnt fit. I guess the rod is shorter type. Can anyone tell me what is wrong..?

Hey guys, just ordered cylinder base gasket from Mikesxs for my engine and got a blue colored one instead of the usual green. Is this a different type ? Or are they the same ?
Every time someone does a long run they always list in their "should take with you list": A spare clutch cable! I NEVER really thought that was an issue until today. The cable, only 2 years old, met his maker today... Great ride already and on the home stretch, shifting into 3rd... "clink"...
Hello. First time poster. I have a 78 xs650 that I've owned for years. This year, when I took it out of it's winter storage, she fired right up, but kind of jerks to a stall in first gear. Ran fine when I put her away for the winter. Read on some forums about the clutch locking up after storage...
