Black and white looks good, I think I will get my 750 tank painted plain black, and perhaps stick on those gel tuning fork logos over the clear so that I can remove them if they end up giving me the sh!ts. Personally, I've never been a huge fan of the "checkered stripes" but really can't stand seeing "Ace Cafe" emblazoned all over otherwise good-looking bikes, but each to their own. I won't really get on a pedestal about cafe-racer purity myself as I'm trying to get the look on a special!

Btw, your motor looks pretty damn clean - love the timing cover!

Hi
Can I cut this frame loop off & not reweld a flat bar in its place<, I need to cut this off to fit my new seat with tail lights, no rome under seat

Yes i see a lot of bobbers in the US like this one attached, but without the loop you could get some frame flex from the swing arm & shocks wouldn't you??????

Update for those who may be interested
I cut the rear frame loop off to line up & support the alloy sheet that supports my café fiberglass seat.

Filled the two holes with metal filler & fitted a helicoil to screw the back of the plate down
Then cut of the tank ears & fitted lugs for XS750 tank oh yes i also cut off seat hinges & seat lock
& that was a whole day's work!

Seat now fitted

No. the swingarm doesn't rely on the shocks to keep its geometry, that chore is handled by the bushings exclusively.

Only painting of tank & seat also get some parts ceramic coated engine covers cam covers & so on
