I'd just like to introduce myself. My name is Joel and I'm to to the xs650! A few weeks ago I picked up an '83 Heritage Special complete but not in rideable condition. It seems to have great compression and turns over without any issues. My plans for it are to clean her up get it running and bob it out. If anyone has advice or what to look out for, do's/don'ts please let me know! Thanks!

Welcome to the site. Some people think it is better to get the bike running perfect, then get it licensed and certified in your name, then start the customization process.
Good luck with it!

Thanks guys, I've been doing some serious research so far. I'd like to try and change the oil and see if I can get her to run this weekend. I was gonna try last weekend but got caught up doing yard work around the house.
