question about wire harness

i am new to this bike. it is a 79, the old owner intsalled a pamco ing. i have the TC bros simple wire harness and am looking a a reg/rec combo. will this work, do i need to unground the alt? or should i just leave the factory rec and reg ? sorry for all the question latley i am just trying to learn this bike

Either the 80 up combe reg/rec or the Chrysler/Radio Shack mods will be better than the stock 79 reg and rec.
If your rectifier is ok, You can just do the Chrysler reg mod, At the price of the Radio Shack recifier, just do it.
On the 80 up combo reg/rec you will need to do the three nylon screw mod and a bit of a rewire. Depending on which Chrysler reg you use, the cheap one needs the mods, the more expensive no.
