XS650 FEST & CHOPOFF "2016" (Chop It - Build It- Bring it)

So I just posted like 100 pictures of the build I've been doing, and I plan to bring to the XS650 Fest. Should those pics go here instead?

Also, due to some personal tragedy and issues, the 6-8 month build turned into a 2 year build, and it's in the final stages now. Does it still qualify, or does it have to be jammed out start to finish in 2016?

I am in the same boat, there are only 4 rules as posted on the first page! You must send the info they ask for, you must post updates here and on the Facebook page monthly, you must be down there for the chop off, and you must make the qualifying ride under the bikes own power. I asked the guys and there is no time limit. So u should definitely enter!!

Here's my start!

Made some progress, the frame was completely dismantled, cleaned, painted; steering head bearings changed to tapered bearings, swing arm cleaned and fresh grease added, front end bolted on and special patina'd front fender installed. Time to add brakes and wiring.

Nothing much but I got my rear brake set up and a front spoke wheel on the way. Still looking for an 18" rear spoke

Real clean open spaces on that frame - is that because capacitor/PMA without battery? Or is more coming. Liking where you're going with this.

I just want to say that I am soo excited to see all of the participation with the builders this year!! This is going to be killer!!! Can't wait! Looking good guys keep up the good work! Even if it is just pile of parts you have been collecting and it isn't a bike yet post it for all to see!

ABSOLUTELY DAN,,,,
I am really looking forward to running out to Ohio and meeting everyone too.
It is gonna be an epic time.

Getting a little further on this crazy frame. Measure 6 times cut once. Ok maybe cut 6 times. Front and back engine mounts are next. Lots to do!!

It's soooo close.....but removable. Ignore the bolts. The bungs are machined for recessed allen heads, I just don't have them yet.

Coolest top motor mount ever.... Hmmm... There's still time for me to steal this idea...
