I have a set of BS38's on a 77XS650S saws-all special. It has two separate fuel inlets that point in the upward position. I want to feed them with one petcock from the left side. I tried a T fitting but have run into space issues and the flow seem to feed the right more carb more than the left. I need to connect them as close to the carb fuel inlet as possible. I seem i cant find a Y fuel fitting anywhere. Anybody have any ideas they can share. A picture is worth a thousand words. Thanks Dirty

You don't need a tee. Just plug the inlet on one or the other carb. The carb already has a cross-over tube on it. You only need to supply one or the other inlet.

It doesn't matter. Either carb can be plugged off. Use which ever one gives you a straighter fuel line, less apt to kink.

The reason both carbs have an inlet is that in the stock setup they used two petcocks. Each petcock fed each carb. But in case one petcock got plugged or not turned on they added the crossover tube so both carbs could get fuel. The tunnel of the tank also seperates the left and right side of the tank. When the fuel level gets low enough both sides can be used.
They used two petcocks up to 79. In 80 they went to a single petcock. The 80 up carbs have a tee that feeds both carbs.
On these one petcock tanks once the fuel gets low enough you only run off one side of the tank. Not a problem, just keep the tank full.

In the pic you show, the tank has two outlet bungs. I would thread a petcock into both of these bungs and run a line to each carb inlet. Fuel filters of coarse.

There is no tunnel on this Tank and it is angled at such a degree that both bungs are at the same elevation. Here is a pic of the Carbs. The croosover tube is not split as i previously stated. These XS 650's are alot of fun to work on. Been use to working on the old knucklehead and shovel for years. This is the first Jap Twin I've Chopped. Nice and small. Dirty

Unless you have done some monster engine mods the crossover tube will supply plenty of fuel. If you are worried about it run two petcocks as I mentioned earlier.

No she aint no monster, bone stock, shed find. Paid 200 beers for it. Sure got lots of power to be a 656cc. Figured it was a mail box bike. Did the two petcock thing first but trying to get this thing skinny. Thanks Dirty

The best gas line to use is that 1/4" clear stuff in the lawnmower section at the auto parts store. Thin, flexible, cheap, and you can see what goin on inside. What you have is for pressurized lines.

You're using American automotive 1/4" fuel line which is a larger diameter than the original stuff. That is aggravating the lack of space problem. If you want black line, MikesXS sells nice thin wall stuff that is an exact match to the original in size.

Thanks for the good advice. Good to hear i can run only one. Make's a world of difference in space. The lawnmower line is a good idea. You dont think it will get hard to fast. Thanks Dirty
