That’s a pretty rare bird. They weren’t big sellers here in the US, based on a BSA A7 design, but they were heavier, more expensive and vibrated more than their British counterparts, BSA and Triumph. Sales were discontinued in the US in the late 60’s but remained popular in the Japanese home market, surviving into the mid 70’s, long enough to be upgraded to a twin disc setup towards the end. Interesting bike and the one in your photograph is a beautiful example!

There were 65 bikes in the show, many are rare. We sat about 175 people for dinner each night. Lots of bikes! Great rides!

Nope twern't there but there is a to the nines restored 70 that looks mighty fine, if a bit "too" restored for my tastes.
I actually prefer that scheme. Unless I was goin' for historical correct resto, I'd use it too. Most people wouldn't even notice.

Took a break from wrenching "all week" and got out for a sunset ride.
Took a little ride to visit a "Civil War" memorial today. A leisurely pace through the county
took me to the "Town of Rhine" and a memorial dedicated 4 July 1868. This is special not only because it commemorate s the 23 that didn't return but also the side story. The team of horses pulling the wagon were worn out and it was night so the memorial was unloaded 1/2 mile short of it's destination, "Rhine Center".
