Hello everyone!! My son bought his first motorcycle today, its a 76 xs650 that someone turned into a bobber. I have from why i can tell original risers from the original part of the xs650. I measured the bars at like 23.5mm, is that accurate? They are some pimpy handlebars, they gotta go. What options do i have?

From the pic, they look like some version of "Z Bars"; they're not original, but the risers do appear to be (so they're 7/8" diameter bars as are the controls). It's difficult to recommend a certain bar with the modifications done; the seat is lower and the tank is "Frisco" mounted and many bars may hit it when turned full-lock.

Best suggestion is to sit on the bike and put his hands where they're comfortable and measure the rise and width; then get 7/8" bars that are close to those dimensions

Looks like the front fender mounted on the rear tire. The Master cylinder isn’t stock but the brake lines appear to be, possibly even factory! Lol I’d think about changing those also.

The caliper is rusted close, this looks to be a common tokiko caliper. Has anyone swapped a dual piston front caliper? Sorry, i may be asking repetitive questions, but i have like 12 collective thought flying around like gnats..

Don’t know what to say about this one - the only words coming to my mind is - “time period chopper “ - looking back not sure I like it so much anymore :)

That caliper is pretty good when working, Replacement pistons and seals are sold, it's also available as a complete unit, new after market. There are fork leg adapters being sold to run Blue spot Yamaha and Brembo calipers.

Nothing wrong with V-twin, they have worked constant since 1940ties
You need to understand that a V-twin rider joined the XS650 idiots in the Ozarks ride and he was embraced fully as a friend and brother. If I post "V twin" anything, it is with tongue in cheek. Peace. Cheers😎

It helped that he is a really nice guy. By the end of the weekend he was talking about getting a XS650 to bring next year.
