Are there any alternatives to the apparently unobtainable (OEM or Pattern) air filters for 1975 model please?

Hi! I have a 1977 xs 650. Looking to switch over to pod-style air filters. How do I select ones that will fit and work right. Running BS38 carbs.

If there's any way I can make these work they are going on my stock 38's. I can buy them pretty reasonably until the supply is gone. :thumbsup:

Anyone willing to share some ideas of some unique air filters? I'm hunting for some ideas. right now I have a K&N cone filter but am not sure how I should mount and if I'm going to build a manifold to connect the two Carbs to on filter.

Has anybody modified the stock air boxes to get more air flowing? Mine just have some holes in the back to let the air in(77), seems pretty restrictive.

What effect does a bad rubber joint (between the airboxes) have on performance of the bike? Could this be the cause of some hesitation? #16 in the pic
