Hello everyone, I’m new here and have been going through a bunch of threads and can’t seem to find exactly what I’m looking for.
I’m potentially going to be turning the 650 into a bobber.
I want to now if there is a step by step build process, or some sort of YouTube video?
This will be...

Hello, I havent been an active member here just a longtime lurker. I have a couple of XS650s that I started building about 5 or 6 years ago, one is hardtailed and the other is a street tracker. The rigid bike was just a rubbermaid tub full of "XS650 Parts" that I bought on Craigslist for $250. I...
Helloo there. I have been eyeballing xs650's for quite some time and the wife finally let me pull the trigger on one and what did I do? yep, I stripped it all down and chopped the back of the frame. HAHA It's a terrible feeling let me tell you. I immediately searched craigslist to reassure...
Question for anyone that has a Voodoo Vintage hardtail.
Will I have any fitment issues with this 2.5 rim from Mikes?

Thanks.
I'm finally getting ready to actually strip my bike down. Picture attached.
It's a running, all original '78 Special. I'm going to be hardtailing this.
Here are the details of what I'm doing:
- Voodoo hardtail
- Hugh's complete CDI kit
- Converting to no battery - kick only
- Simple harness...
Hello,
Bit of a newbie question but I recently bought an 1975 XS650B and subsequently discovered that the forks that were installed on the bike were XS400 forks, and totally don't fit the bike (the stem is too short). Because of this I've gone ahead and bought 34MM forks from a fellow forum...
Hello all,
I know it's near sacrilege to chop up an old XS frame, but I felt this frame was a good candidate because when I bought it it had already had some of the seat pan chopped off, as well as some of the frame around the swing arm though I can't say for sure what those frame bits did...
I have a 78 that I'm about to start disassembling. I'm going to hardtail it with a Voodoo MK21.
I plan to leave the engine in while I tack weld the hardtail into place.
Is there any particular order that I should follow while taking apart down to the frame?
Just take pics and bag and label...
Hey, everyone.
First off, I want to say this forum is a tremendous resource and I am very appreciative of all the info you guys provide. That being said, I am looking for some guidance.
Ok, so here is what I am working on. Please disregard the seat/sissy bar fitment and the messy garage. The...
Hey everyone. Love this site! I have a 1973 TX650 custom hardtail. I bought it 80% complete and I've finished it. My problem is the rear wheel is wobbly and loose. I noticed this when I raised the rear wheel off the ground. The wheel wobbles back and forth way too much. I tried to tear the rear...
DISCLAIMER: Armed with a bottom of the barrel flux core welder and a dream, I scavenged Craigslist to find an XS650 bobber project for my first motorcycle build. This is my story....
Picked this baby up for $1500 cold hard american cash. PO had it running (barely) but it was in need of a ton of...
Just got an XS650 in a parts lot I acquired but the frame that it came in is trashed from someone previously trying to modify it.
I also have a hardtail rear section that is good.
I am looking for either a stock front loop I can weld my hardtail to or an already hardtailed frame someones not...
Hey dudes, thought I would post my journey for my hardtail build thread now that I am starting to get into it.
Frame is a late 80’s with TC brothers hardtail.
So I plan on hardtailing my 79' xs650 soon. I'll be installing a TC hardtail and I'm trying to figure out the best way to lift and secure the frame so I can remove everything but the engine for cutting the back half off and tack welding the hardtail in place. The issue is that if I use my...
